Additionally, important cultural events are currently held in both cities. In conclusion, you will have a harmonious mix between the past and the present that will mark your trip.

I think that Athens and Cartagena are a bit similar. In both cities you can find good cuisine that delights tourists and locals alike. They also have several tourist sites recognized worldwide. Finally, one thing that differentiates them is their climate, since in Athens the Mediterranean climate is affected by the seasons while in Cartagena a more tropical and constant climate predominates. Italy and Colombia

Italy is very similar to Colombia in terms of the manner and customs they have?

If you want to travel to another country, you must know some manners and customs to fit into that country. It´s important to know what to do in different situations such as: greeting others, what to do and not do at mealtime, how to apologize, among others; this way you will avoid misunderstandings with the people around you. It’s advisable that you know the simple phrases to ask for something, say thank you or apologize in the language of the country you are visiting, it would be a good way to show respect or affection for its culture. Finally, enjoy the tourist places, the gastronomy and local culture, so you will remember an incredible trip and maybe you will want to return. In my opinion, I think that Italy is very similar to Colombia in terms of manners and customs for two reasons.

One thing that Italy and Colombia have in common are social norms. First, both countries have the norm of greeting others, remember that in Italy it is important to greet others with a kiss on the cheek while in Colombia it is common to shake hands and introduce yourself the first time you meet someone. Second, in both Italy and Colombia it is common to offer gifts during important events such as birthdays, graduations, family reunions and others; in both countries it’s frowned upon to arrive empty-handed. Third, in both, Italy and Colombia you are allowed to be late to a meeting with your friends, obviously you should not abuse this freedom or you will make your friends angry. To sum up, no matter where you are you should always greet others, giving something when they are special events is a sign that you value that person; and you can be late but don't abuse that privilege.

At mealtime, Italy and Colombia share table manners. First, both have a drink par excellence, in Italy wine cannot be missing during a good lunch, dinner or meeting and even as a gift; while in Colombia coffee or "tinto" is the drink with which many start the day, have a snack or receive a visit. Second, in both countries there is a similar eating schedule, you have breakfast early in the morning, around midday you have lunch and dinner around 7 pm, and don't worry, you can eat snacks between the main meals. Third, in both countries’ family is the most important thing, in Italy they tend to live relatively close to each other and get together on weekends to enjoy a meal together; while in Colombia it’s common for most homes to share the main meals with all family members, although meetings are also held to share special events such as birthdays. In short, you will find a drink that accompanies every moment of the day in both countries, eating times are similar so you will not miss any meals and finally, the family will always be willing to share a meal to pass the time.

In conclusion, Italy and Colombia are very similar in terms of manners and customs. Because first, in both countries it is important to greet others, give a gift during an important event or visit, and although it is not very polite, being late for outings with friends is allowed. Second, both countries have similar culinary customs, they have a favorite drink that goes with all airplanes, meal times are similar and for both it is important to share time with the family, as well as a good lunch on the weekend. Finally, to enjoy your trip be sure to greet others, bring a gift for your friends, and have a nice glass of wine or a cup of “tinto”.
